Community-driven Themes:

Based on community feedback, there are three themes of maps: demographics, education, and economic development.


Education

Education shows locations of K-12 schools, and population of school-aged children. Population is included for 2010 and estimates for 2014. Data sources include the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI), and the U.S. Census.

Demographics

Demographics shows population by race, income, and population density. Population is shown for 2010 and estimates for 2014. Data source: U.S. Census.

Economic Development

Economic Development shows locations that provide assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners, household median income for 2010 and estimates for 2014. Data sources: U.S. Census, Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce.

EDA University Center

University of Michigan-Flint recently was awarded funding for an EDA University Center. Through the new data collection efforts, MapFlint is assisting in the mapping of data for this broader region.
